Hi everyone this is officially my first blog........ Yay!!! I just wanted to make this first entry informational about myself and my brand. Growing up with dry skin I've had to use Vaseline to make my skin look somewhat moisturized. I would use some kind of coco butter lotion and seal it with the Vaseline until I found out about baby oil gel, LOL. Then it was pat dry and rub in the gel. Which eventually led me to mixing of products once I was in college. I would take my lotion and mix it with the baby oil gel just to finish it off with the Vaseline. It wasn't until I moved to Texas that I begin to think of other ways to get moisture into my skin. I remembered that my grandma would make some mixture with Vitamin E cream and that's all I knew. She has undoubtedly the softest and smoothest skin I've ever felt other than my youngest aunt. I've always wanted skin soft like theirs but had no idea how to achieve it. So of course I added the one ingredient I knew about which was the vitamin E cream and it worked and I was glad. Little did I know that was only the beginning.
About two years ago I had a coworker who wanted to try my mixture and paid me for it, but something just didn't sit right with me. I felt that if I would sell anything I wanted to research the best. Since I've been on my natural hair journey for seven years now, I've learned more about natural ways to help soothe and eventually cure common skin issues. So, that's exactly what I did. I began to look up what was good for skin, what had the best benefits, and what could possibly change how people viewed their dry skin. Through trial and error, I finally found a formula that worked. It is moisturizing, great for eczema prone skin, and works even for those with sensitivities. Being someone that deals with eczema prone skin, I truly understand how it feels to try something and it doesn't work or deal with products that work but you just don't know what is in it.
Since the start of the butter balm formula, I honestly haven't used any other products. I did not create this just to sell but wanted to find the most organic way to treat my skin. No preservatives, no dyes, no irritants, no alcohols, and no steroids. Ingredients that come from the earth and serve a greater purpose other than just to look pretty and smell nice. As time goes by and I learn new things I will create new products and the line will grow. This will be a line that allows you to heal the skin naturally and care for it without having to worry if you are doing more harm than good. With that being said, there is definitely more to look forward to and more to expect. Below is a picture of my latest eczema flare up and the progress of it healing.
